The public project statement pushes back on the fantasy of greatness. It proposes “best” as something built through conduct: what gets practiced, repeated, and chosen when nobody is performing certainty.

The frame carries weight.

The project statement names the gilded, 1776-style frame as a reference to inherited power, portraiture, status, and old authority. The frame is not neutral display furniture; it is part of the proposition.
